A closer look at the faux taxidermy Schiaparelli Fall 2026 kitten heels.
Of all the footwear on the fall 2026 runways, Schiaparelli’s stood out once again for its ingenious use of craft and wit. Earlier this year, the brand brought us visionary faux taxidermy bird shoes; a surreal wearable dream realized. Now, we have the kitten heels, made of resin and felt, from Schiaparelli’s fall 2026 collection titled The Sphinx. These hyper-realistic pumps showcase a wild, orange-toned cat with its mouth agape. Whiskers, teeth, tongue and nose perfectly lifelike and expertly shocking.
“Schiaparelli has always been radical. But it’s never been radical to the point of alienating its women. And maybe that’s the ultimate legacy of what Elsa built: clothes that made women feel more alive with the dream of who they were…while also feeling comfortable with who they actually were. It was a paradox that worked a hundred years ago. May it be ever so,” wrote Daniel Roseberry in the show notes.
The atelier collaborates with the German company Animal Replicas to create each piece. We said it before and we’ll say it again: Schiaparelli is creating the highest art form of shoes on the planet right now.
