Haute Couture Fall 2026 Trends Report New

It’s couture, honey…but it’s also one of our favorite places to observe unusual trends. Straight from Paris, these are the top haute couture fall 2026 trends.

Haute Couture may be as far away from the clothing most normal people wear in their daily lives as possible. Because of the ornate, absolutely fabulous nature of couture being made-to-order, extremely expensive, and of a certain dying era in fashion, it’s also become somewhat of an experimental playground. Couture sets the tone of what’s to come in ready-to-wear, even if it manifests as something more toned down a few years later. The extreme aspect of the couture shows means there’s often some really interesting and unusual trends happening.

Here are our favorite trends from the fall 2026 couture shows so far.

Light-Up Dresses

The first day of the fall 2026 couture season gave us two headliner shows with glowing dresses. First up, Iris Van Herpen created a wearable science experiment with mini dresses utilizing plasma that glowed. At Schiaparelli, creative director Daniel Roseberry made sculpted latex and sculptural fringe glow with the use of soft, added lights that were charged and powered up inside the dresses. Backstage, after the show, Roseberry told press that the lights were inspired by a phrase his business coach says: “We are all just light beings, having a human experience.” Maybe in these dark times, these lit dresses can be looked at as a physical, visual symbol of hope.

Antique Indian Craftsmanship

Couture easily lends itself to the expert craftsmanship of India, and there are usually a handful of Indian brands showing each season. However, to have Jonathan Anderson at Dior both proudly acknowledge and heavily credit the antique art and craft of skilled Indian artisans as a major inspiration for the Dior fall 2026 was great; it spotlights the country (that many of us already associate with beautiful craft) at a time when it’s been long overdue. Elsewhere at Rahul Mishra, the designer beautifully reinterpreted Indian’s ancient stone carvings into lavish, highly technical gowns.

Pale Lime Green

If you see a lot of color at couture week, it’s a very good season. Such is the case for the fall 2026 couture shows, where brilliant, saturated hues have reigned supreme. Light lime green is a standout so far, seen in a soft iteration in the form of a draped, beaded textural gown at the debut couture collection for Standing Ground. Dior also showed a gorgeous pleated lime green metallic get-up, accented with white flowers. Even one of Schiaparelli’s latex, light-up wonders was done in the softest, absolutely palest shade of baby lime green.
