Spectacular: Fendi Fall 2026 Baguette Bags

A closer look at the Fendi fall 2026 Baguette bags, as Maria Grazia Chiuri takes the helm at the fashion house.

Few bags have reached the dizzyingly iconic status of the fabulously embellished vintage Fendi Baguette. They have an instant lore that transcends handbag–in turn they’ve become collectible fashion history with a Carrie Bradshaw cosigned stamp of approval. In recent years, the archival fashion community and vintage collectors have also developed an insatiable appetite for the rarest of the rare Fendi baguette bags of the past. Think: sequinned, mirrored, knitted, fringed, and also done up in exquisite exotics beyond compare. Instant status symbols: a unique vintage Fendi baguette is a verified outfit transformer.

So, it’s no surprise that for her grand debut as the newly-named creative director at Fendi, Maria Grazia Chiuri created new covetable Fendi bags inspired by some of the aforementioned late ’90s and early 2000s Baguettes. Before we get into the details, however, consider this: perhaps one of the reasons why the Baguette bag is so good is because it was born from the minds of two highly influential women designers, for women. Silvia Venturini Fendi created the Baguette in 1997, but Chiuri, who worked in the Fendi accessories atelier at the time, helped develop it and bring it to full-flung fashion fruition.

Our favorite Fendi fall 2026 Baguette bags that came down the fall 2026 runway aren’t shy! They glimmer, shimmer and surprise with mixed textures and trompe l’oeil techniques. Midnight black fringed beadwork collides with lizard and a rhinestone buckle. A woven version pops with mini mirrors surrounded by brilliant, shiny cabochon-like beads. Luscious supersized whipstich trim is reminiscent of some of the early aughts Fendi Baguettes–I once bought one secondhand in cherry red and later sold it–now I regret that move even more. Plus, a longer, more practical and slimmer strap was added. We saw metallic knits encrusted with studs, brilliantly bold animal prints rendered through embroidered beadwork with a side of exotics, mermaid-like effects shine and rainbow, fluffed-up furs.

Consider the new Fendi fall 2026 Baguette bags a rare art form as well as a testament to how how impactful vintage bags have become. (Yves Saint Laurent also just reprised the Tom Ford era Mombasa.) Fendi’s been creating its own new versions of the Baguette bag for years–but nothing that feels as close to the originals as these. It’s what the people want. It’s about nerding out about the craft while making a personality-defining statement with a single accessory.

Each Baguette is worth a zoom of its own to take in all the delicious details.
