As Jonathan Anderson takes the helm at Dior, a love letter to the pink shorts at Dior Spring 2026 Menswear.
Jonathan Anderson joining Dior as sole creative director is some of the best news fashion fans received in months. It’s no surprise that the Irish born creative director received a standing ovation at the Dior Spring 2026 Menswear show inside the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris this morning. Anderson is one of the few contemporary designers who has managed to create an incredibly distinct aesthetic that merges historical references, whimsical wonderment and wearability, constantly pulling from all corners of art and pop culture.
The Dior Spring 2026 Menswear collection seemed to reference Anderson’s own fabled work at his legendary J.W. Anderson label but also merged into vast aesthetic territories. Think: Victorian prep collegiate mash-up with a dose of studied Y2K and a drop of Dangerous Liasions.
Most powerful in the collection, however, were the shorts. Shorts for men have long been the butt of every joke; for good reason. And yet, Anderson found a way to almost intellectualize them.

The pink shorts in the Dior Spring 2026 Menswear collection showed a sense of humor and a master of craft–two things Anderson always excels at. Big, big, big and pridefully baggy, they came with hulking, fat cargo pockets, a layered effect and an oddly satisfying trompe-l’oeil effect that had us questioning, “Shirt? Skirt? Skort? Apron?”
We’re eagerly awaiting Jonathan Anderson’s womenswear collections at Dior, but until then, we’ll be dreaming of those pink shorts.
