Haute couture is the best fashion week. I watched Law Roach pull a look straight off the Schiaparelli runway backstage for Zendaya’s premiere that same night. The Balenciaga front row moments before Pierpaolo Piccioli’s couture debut was its own kind of show. And the multiple powerful standing ovations throughout the week were more than moving and proof that fashion is still at its best in certain spaces where craft and creativity are allowed to roam free.
