The Review: Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water

This is our unfiltered review of Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water.

I’m a huge fan of Drunk Elephant’s products. Everything from the packaging down to the clean ingredients and the targeted concepts. So far, I haven’t tried a product from Drunk Elephant that I don’t love. So when the brand announced that they were launching the E-Rase Milki Micellar Water, I knew I had to review it.

This is not your typical micellar water. In fact, it’s totally different. It has a slightly thicker consistency, more along the lines of something you’d see from other milk cleansers. It’s white rather than clear and it comes in a white bottle with a coral colored top.

The other main difference in Drunk Elephant’s E-Rase Milki Micellar Water is all the plant based ingredients and oils. The product contains ultra-mild micelles, soothing vitamin E, replenishing fatty acids and antioxidant-rich, non-fragrant plant oils (marula, baobab, mongongo, wild melon seed, ximenia seed, passionfruit and sweet almond).

Upon first application, Drunk Elephant’s E-Rase Milki Micellar Water feels like a super hydrating, very nourishing breath of fresh air. Instead of just feeling like a makeup remover, it feels more like a cross between a makeup remover, toner and light moisturizer.

Texture

I’m obsessed with milky cleansers (Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser or Milk Makeup’s Milk Cleanser, for example) because I love the texture and I feel like they’re amazing at removing grime. This was the same case for Drunk Elephant’s E-Rase Milki Micellar Water. It seamlessly removed my eye makeup in one swipe, as well as the makeup I was wearing on the rest of my face. I even feel like the product took off more makeup than my typical micellar water (Bioderma) did.

After using Drunk Elephant’s E-Rase Milki Micellar Water, I cleansed as I normally do, and my skin felt just a little more softer. One thing to note, is that since this has a thicker consistency, it means you need to use a little more of the product than you normally would with a micellar water. That means the product will likely go faster. However, it comes in an 8 ounce bottle for $28, so it’s one of the best values from the brand.

Overall, I’m really blown away by this unique micellar water and will be using it every night. I’m obsessed with the milky texture, how squeaky clean it leaves my skin, and how soft my skin feels after. Also, there’s absolutely no tackiness or sticky feeling after it dries down.

Tiffany Masterson, Founder, Drunk Elephant said of the new product launch: “This was almost cleansing wipes, until my daughter and her friends used it as a makeup remover. They loved it and demanded more, so E-Rase Micellar Wipes became E-Rase Milki Micellar Water. Use it whenever and however you need it. A post-workout refresh, a makeup mistake corrector (or remover), a long car-ride cleansing solution, a lazy late night savior—you get the idea. There are no rules. No rinsing required. E-Rase it all away with this moisturizing, soothing, barrier-supportive answer to your (and my daughter’s) skin prayers.”
