The Maison Margiela outlet Woodbury Common just opened in March 2023, and so far, it’s the very first Margiela outlet in the U.S. Given the mainstream success of the Tabi in recent years, combined with the brand being associated with the ubiquitous archive fashion obsession, it’s really no surprise Margiela decided to open up a shop at one of the world’s most exciting outlet mall destinations.
The Maison Margiela outlet is well-stocked full of bags, shoes, and ready-to-wear for both men and women. And if you have a predilection for John Galliano’s runway pieces, you should definitely go–because we saw a few coats from the runway collections hanging on the racks alongside more commercial pieces like jeans, sweaters and tops.
In terms of prices, we were told that the starting discounts average around 30% – 40% off. With Margiela’s ready-to-wear prices being quite high, that means some of the most special pieces were still over $5,000–but some of the discounts were a bit better than that. Many of the bags were priced a little below, or just slightly over $1,000. For example, a mini printed floral Glam Slam bag was priced at about $900 and can be found in a similar style for $2,400 on FarFetch currently. Elsewhere, the large Glam Slam bags were priced at about $1,000 and sell for about $2,500 elsewhere.
There’s a great selection of Tabi shoes, ranging from flats, to mary jane heels, boots, rain boots and sneakers for men and women, with most prices coming in at $350ish to $650ish.
Overall, the Maison Margiela outlet at Woodbury Common is definitely worth a visit if you’re a Margiela fan. Even in New York City there’s quite a limited number of retailers that offer a large selection of items from the brand (save for the few flagship stores), and the outlet has almost all the different bag and shoe styles currently available from the label, as well as wallets, little leather goods and an ample amount of clothing.
Woodbury Common has some of the world’s best outlets and the prices typically reflect the season–which means Margiela, like the other stores there, will likely offer more discounts to come!
