Margaret de Patta Jewelry New

An ode to Margaret de Patta jewelry.

Margaret de Patta is your favorite jeweler’s favorite jeweler. To see a Margaret de Patta piece is to experience an entirely new world of craft. The avant-garde, mid-century designer (1903–1964) was self-taught, and everything about her and her work is unconventional to the world of fine jewelry. Her first experimentation in jewelry began when she decided to design her own engagement ring; working with the futuristic lines, unconventional materials and profoundly individual aesthetic she’s known for.

Think: geometric, mind-bending metal settings, unusual gemstones (heavily rutilated quartz!) and sculptural, zig-zagging figures, usually done in sterling silver. Her work has the kind of unusual element and beautifully chaotic energy that challenges everything, with intent.
