The Review: Augustinus Bader The Cream Cleansing Gel

This is our unfiltered review of Augustinus Bader’s The Cream Cleansing Gel.

Augustinus Bader’s The Cream and The Rich Cream have become iconic game changers in the the world of skincare. The all-in-one products are meant to be used as the sole serum/cream in your routine and pretty much guarantee a glow-y complexion. Up until recently, the Augustinus Bader line did not have a cleanser, but as of July 2020, Augustinus Bader launched The Cream Cleansing Gel–I knew I had to review it since I’m such a big fan of the line.

If you’ve tried The Rich Cream or The Cream, you know that Augustinus Bader’s products are touted as “PPC Cellular Renewal Cream With TFC8.” The products are designed by Professor Bader (yes, a real guy) who developed a “technology that activates, harnesses and orchestrates the body’s own systems to repair and regenerate,” according to the brand. Rather than implement stem cell science that focuses on removing stem cells to work with them outside the body, or using foreign stem cells from animals or plants, Augustinus Bader products employ the body’s own stem cells to heal and correct tissue.

The brand calls this technology TFC8 (Trigger Factor Complex), and it contains natural amino acids, vitamins and synthesised molecules naturally found in skin. “This complex serves in a transport function delivering powerful actives to the cells to leave skin looking and feeling repaired and regenerated,” according to the brand.

Like The Rich Cream and The Cream, Augustinus Bader The Cream Cleansing Gel comes in a luxurious, heavy blue bottle with a copper top. It is a lightweight, cleanser that doesn’t foam. Though it is being called a gel cleanser, I think the texture is more similar to a milky cleanser. It has only a slight smell (the same you’ll detect in the The Cream or The Rich Cream). Upon application, the cleanser doesn’t foam, but it does make skin feel a bit tighter and refreshed. There’s no tacky residue left behind, and it removes makeup seamlessly.

One thing in particular I noticed is how mild this cleanser is. As someone with sensitive skin, it’s something I could see myself using as an everyday cleanser. I often have issues with cleansers making my skin pink after washing, but I didn’t have this problem with the Cream Cleansing Gel. Specific ingredients include rose flower water, cucumber extract and aloe leaf juice, all of which are responsible for the gentle, non-irritating feel of the cleanser.

Overall, The Augustinus Bader The Cream Cleansing Gel is a lovely cleanser that feels extremely luxurious. It’s a must have for fans of the brand, I promise. And at $65 for 100ml, it’s also a more affordable way to try the brand if you haven’t yet.

Get it at Augustinus Bader’s website, here. And if you haven’t tried the line’s other products, definitely do so:
